I have over 20 years’ experience as a therapist working in mental health with individuals, couples and families. I have a PhD in Counselling and Psychotherapy and am registered with the Health Care Professions Council as a practising psychologist (web link) I am a qualified and registered Psychotherapist (UKCP). I have also trained in dramatherapy and specialist approaches to addiction. I worked for 7 years with children and families in a therapeutic community offering therapeutic support in relation to drug and alcohol dependency. I also have a continuing professional interest and personal involvement in understanding adoption, attachment and infertility issues. I specialise in ecotherapy and work outdoors in nature with clients aswell as indoors. I have published a book on this unique approach called ‘Nature and Therapy’ with Routledge (see here).
I see therapy as a co-collaborative endeavour where client and therapist enter into a relationship through which both can be changed by the encounter. I remain committed to continuing professional development and my own supervision, personal therapy and self-awareness.
I am interested in holistic and creative approaches to therapy and work with individuals, couples and families in order to support them through difficulties and crisis.
